Its That Time of Year Again:

Time for Prom, a dance that some say has changed their life. Imagine waking up from a nice long slumber with your hair in a bun, sweatshirt covered in crumbs knowing you'll be transformed into a princess in a few hours. This transformation is..magical! Your hair begins to be tied tightly in a beautiful bun or nicely curled and back behind your ears. You dress lays upon you and your feet easily slide into your perfect set of heels. Your eyes glisten through the dance floor lights, and you dance the night away. However, that whole scenario is mostly seen in the movies, or  in the stereotypical high school tv shows, where the girl gets the guy at the end. In reality though it's a lot harder finding the perfect....well anything. Thats why in this blog I'm going to give three different dress styles just to give ideas about what you need to look for in a dress for PROM!

The Ball Gown

The Ball Gown dress style is the stereotypical Cinderella, or Beauty in The Beast dress. For those who might not understand what that means, it has a sweet heart neckline, that outlines ones breasts in a dress and looks similar to a shape of a heart,(seen right).

(seen left). In this picture, directly after the sweetheart neckline the dress slims out and forms almost like two backwards C's. This then gives off the illusion that the one wearing the dress is smaller than they actually are as the dress is pulled very tight here. Next is the last part of the Ball Gown dress which is the bottom. The bottom of the dress is significant because it flairs out completely. Seen below is a picture of the sweetheart neckline, the slimmed down hips and of course the poofy bottom all coming together in one ball gown. The bottom is certainly the star of the show as it captures most everyones attention due to it being very large and poofy. This dress overall is THE thing to wear if someone wants to feel like a princess for a night ;)

Mermaid Dress:

Next, I'll be talking about the mermaid dress style. This dress is your pretty basic tight-fitted dress when you first look at it. However, once you take a look down, similar to the ball gown dress it poofs out. What's different about this dress however is that its poofy bottom is actually way too long for the dress itself which looks similar to a mermaid tail, hence its name. On the top part of the dress it is very tight to ones body. This is a very slimming feature on a dress because it again, similar to the ball gown, shows off many peoples curves and edges. However in this one, it is tight all throughout ones body including ones legs. The poof although is a small portion of the dress, it flows out behind them and gives the tail effect. I especially like this dress because the poof I think compliments the dress''s colors. In this dress specifically, the dress starts out as a plain and simple lace dress. As you look a little further down however the dress instantly make you do a double take and now you have a wide, frilly, long tail.

Evening Gown:
Evening Gowns, are dress's that are simpler and plainer than other dress's that may poof out or hug one hips. Evening gowns are the same dimension all the way down and they never really extend in length, or in width, and usually are made with chiffon fabric. Their necklines can consist of a sweetheart, v-neck and halter, as seen below.

All three of these dress's are evening gowns but are all different and special in their own way due to the difference in the neckline. Furthermore, evening gowns are a great choice for prom dress's because they are relatively less money than the other types of dress above. This is great for people who cant spend a lot of  money on a big fancy dress to be worn once. In addition to, wearing a dress that is simpler, it gives you room to do big fancy things with your hair, nails and accessories.

As seen to the left, these three women are wearing very plain looking chiffon gray dress's. However, what makes them stand out if their very well done, big fancy hair as well as the jewelry and crowns they are wearing. Overall, evening gowns don't have to be categorized as boring, because as long as you add the right accessories and jewelry your sure to look as fancy as anyone else!

Thank you to everyone who read this. I hope everyone find their own perfect dress!
